Seasong

If you are looking for a home right on the beach ,I know you have just found it!
We built this place 10 years ago on a site we have owned for 30 years, in the beautiful bay of Oakura.
Walk out of the big sliding doors onto the covered deck (Sheltered from the sun and shower) and you will be 10 meters from the sand.
You will have to turn both ways to see the view as it encompasses the whole bay and for most of the year, it will feel as if you own it .as people will be few and far between .
Even at peak holiday times by UK standards , it will be amazingly unpopulated.
Inside there is the usual mod cons that you would expect from a modern build.
Lots of glass, lots of sun ,lots of art. Views for ever .When the sun rises it floods the lounge,
And when it sets you'll be on the back deck bathed in it.
There are 3 bedrooms ,one with an ensuite and a panoramic view, which the the kitchen bench, lounge sofas and dining table all share.
I think it is time to let photos do the talking as I could go on for ever!
Have a look at www.Seasong.co.nz
As you see we let Seasong out ,so it won't be available from mid Dec to mid Feb (school holidays) but either side it should be . the temperature will be a balmy 23 the water warm and the sun itching to get at your skin!.
We are looking for dates in UK fromJuly to the end of August
A word of warning though, you'll not find bingo, swimming pools, pubs ,shopping ,public transport ,restaurants here ,this is a holiday place that is the "Kiwi dream ". ...sun ,surf, fish ,walk,in a natural ,unspoilt bay, the kind of place that is the real NZ.

About the location

Oakura Bay is on the coast Road to the Bay of Islands .
The Bay of Islands is a major tourist destination and there is lots of information about it available on the tourist NZ site.

The Oakura settlement has about 40 permanent residents and most of the houses are holiday homes .
Being generally lazy seems to be the wish of a lot of us when we go to our house.
Some of us do a lot of fishing (local charters available) then it has to be cooked as soon as it stops flapping of course.theres a lot of that .
Which sav Blanc goes best, that can cause a disagreement or two.
Wives seem to like reading and Lying on the beach.
I have seen some maniacs running past on the sand while we take our morning walk and I understand, they will sometimes go hiking in the hills behind the beach during the day as well.
There's rock pools for the kids and battles with the waves and their sandcastles walls.
A paddle out to the islands for a snorkel is catching on ,but catching a wave on the way back is not as easy as one would think.
Who cares the waters warm as ,especially in late summer.
Are its lunch time .
Where did the time go.,this afternoon it's a toss up ,......snooze, go over to goat island to collect oysters ,dig tuatuas (cockles) ,have a body surf ,read the paper ,marinate the barbecue steaks for tonight, try a Kiwi ice cream from the shop,
I find a cold beer helps when planning important strategies.
Why ,I hear you ask ,would we want to come to your place.
Well, we have spent may years in the Uk and embrace the difference of your environment and lifestyle .
Hopefully you want to do the same with ours.
