"This photo was taken this summer on our wonderful exchange to Falun, Sweden. We knew nothing about the area when we agreed to exchange.

Viking boats at Birka: we didn’t know the island existed; and so we didn’t know it was the centre of the Viking trading world once upon a time, with a thousand inhabitants. Now there are only seven."
