Our home is in Davis, a sunny university city full of parks for children and culture for parents (cafes, bookstores, music, galleries). It's a great place for touring Northern California: 10 mins to Sacramento (state capitol); 1½ hrs to San Francisco, the wine country, the Pacific Ocean; and 2½ hrs to the Sierra Nevada mountains (hiking, 1849 gold rush sites, Lake Tahoe, Reno casinos). Our 1-story home (2,300 sq ft /215 sq m) is 3 bedroom/3 bath (king, two twins, crib or toddler bed), with a fully-appointed kitchen, two living rooms (CD/VCR/DVD), a large children's playroom (with a couch/bed), an office (DSL), a large swimming pool and deck, and a garage (clothes washer and dryer). We have three cars for exchange (minivan, sedan, and electric around-town car).
