A blue shuttered villa with a truly amazing view to the Pyrenees. The villa has a pool and is located above the French Book Town of Montolieu near Carcassonne which has literature & art related events all year round. Carcassonne itself is a World Heritage Site with the marvellous walled city offering an insight into Cathar mediaeval history. The City was featured in the TV dramatisation of Kate Mosse's novel "Labyrinthe". There is superb walking literally on the doorstep, many vineyards to explore and ski-ing in the Pyrenees is about 90 minutes away. In the warmer months the heated swimming pool is lovely! As is the hot tub.

About the location

We live between St Denis and Montolieu about 20 mins from Carcassonne airport.
We fell in love with the villa due to the 180degree view across the Aude valley & the Pyrénées. Spectacular!
Montolieu is a national Books & Art Village and has some excellent restaurants. Two of which are British and Irish owned.
Saissac up the hill has a superb château with a great viewpoint. It is open and has a very good information centre about Cathar history.
