Vive la France!

We built our bright and airy five bedroom house 18 years ago. We have a patio and eat out there from breakfast to dinner in the summer. We live on a quiet crescent on the edge of the beautiful Compiegne Forest, a favourite hunting ground of French kings and emperors. We have plenty of books, dvds (to watch on our computer, we don`t have TV), comic-books in English French (and a bit of German), children`s and adult bikes including a tandem. We have a large garden, a barbecue, table tennis, broadband internet...

About the location

We are less than three miles from Pierrefonds, famous for its Napoleonic chateau (Camelot in Merlin), where there is an excellent tree climbing center : http://www.grimpalarb.fr/accueil.php We are 55 miles from Paris, 10 miles from Compiegne, 35 miles from Parc Asterix and 1 hour from Reims. The forest is ideal for walking and cycling, with more than 20 miles of cycle path http://www.compiegne-tourisme.fr/Pistes-Cyclables.html. We are also a ten minute drive from an open air pool in Attichy, which you can also get to on a new cycle path. We are a five minute drive from a large supermarket, and there are plenty of good restaurants in the area - we will let you know about our favourites!
