We live on the Dorset/Wiltshire border about 5 miles from Shaftesbury. Our thatched cottage is quite big and about 350 years old. It has loads of character and a beautiful garden that looks out onto open farmland. Our village is stunning.
Salisbury with its early gothic cathedral is only 40 minutes away and the stunning Jurassic coast world heritage site only 1hr away. You can also easily visit Stonehenge. London is 1.45 hrs on the train.
