Lovely 2 Bed home in Victoria, Canada

Our 1943 character home, located an easy ten minute drive from downtown Victoria, has been extensively renovated including a new gourmet kitchen, new bathroom with heated tile floor and a large walk-in shower and large deck off the kitchen with gas barbecue and dining area. Within the renovation we've tried to maintain the mid-century charm, restoring the plaster walls and cove ceilings (but have upgraded the key areas to modern standards - the kitchen, bathroom, etc.).

We have two double bedrooms, one with a king sized bed. Both rooms have large closets and chests of drawers.

The finished basement has a family room with TV, full bathroom and the laundry room which includes a washer and gas dryer.

We can provide our car as part of the home exchange.

Our house is located on a cul-de-sac terrace overlooking downtown Victoria. We are surrounded by mature oak trees and have several parks and an 18-hole public golf course within a blocks of the house. It's a great neighbourhood with several amenities close by (including a grocery store/pharmacy, restaurants and bank at the bottom of the hill).

We're also located very well for driving into downtown (less than 10min), or up Vancouver Island for exploring. Public transit is also located within a block of the house and service is very frequent.

Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and home to over 350,000 people - so we have a great selection of restaurants, small & large live theatres, museums and a vibrant Chinatown. There are lots of festivals happening (including filmfest, beerfest, fringe and outdoor concerts).

From Victoria it's very easy to get to Vancouver, Whistler, Seattle and beyond. We have frequent ferry service to the mainland (Vancouver and Washington State) as well as the Gulf & San Juan Islands (for weekend getaways and day trips). Other easy day trips from Victoria include visiting places like Tofino on the west coast of the island.

Our area is known for its hiking, road & mountain biking, diving, golfing, fishing and whale watching (we have road and mountain bikes available for use during the home exchange).
