Home in the Marais - Paris

80 sq-metre flat In the heart of the historic Marais, in central Paris, a few minutes walk from the Place des Vosges, St Paul, the Picasso Museum, the Pompidou Centre, and the countless art galleries, hidden gardens, restaurants, boutiques and museums of the Marais. Not to mention the bustling Bastille and République areas. The recently-pedestrianised banks of the Seine, Notre Dame and even the Louvre are within an agreeable walking or cycling distance, or a short bus ride.

Our flat is in a modern (80s) building, which may not have the charm of charm of Paris` older houses, although we are exceptionally well situated, around a calm and secluded garden square. Windows look out onto trees on one side and a pedestrian area with a lovely, semi-private rose garden on the other. Incredibly calm and safe - you`re more likely to be woken by birds in the trees or the church bells than the sounds of the city. If your party includes a pianist, we have a piano which you`re welcome to use.

Sleeping arrangements: 1 double bed + one adult-sized bed + child-size bunk beds.

About the location

Le Marais is the ancient historic district on Paris` right bank (rive droite). The area hosts countless buildings of historic and architectural interest. There are dozens of beautifully kept gardens and squares including the famous Place des Vosges, a few minutes walk from the flat. There are restaurants and bars for every taste and budget, and entertainment for everyone from the hip and trendy, to those in search of culture and refinement. It`s an ideally situated area to explore the rest of the city on foot or bicycle (there are rental bike stations right by the house), or metro/bus. The Ile St Louis, Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, and the Louvre are all within comfortable walking distance or a short metro/bus ride.
