Large family home in East Sussex village

The Old Vicarage East is a large and spacious yet traditional semi-detached house on 3 floors and great for two families to comfortably stay. We have enough beds to sleep 10 people. There are two bathrooms both with shower and bath and a downstairs toilet. All rooms are a very good size & the beds can be moved to suit your needs.

We have recently extended our kitchen to a modern and large open plan living space with bi-folding doors opening out onto a patio and the garden. The kitchen is an ideal space for entertaining or relaxing and where we spend most of our time. Close to the kitchen we have a cosy snug with TV and log burner. We also have a playroom/music room (with piano and drums) full of toys and games and a traditional lounge/sitting room with log burner for cosy evenings by the fire. Upstairs we have 5 large bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The well managed and secure garden is mainly laid to lawn with flowerbeds, fruit trees, a small wildlife pond and a patio area with a traditional pizza oven, BBQ and outside seating. We have a trampoline, bicycles for all the family, football goal, playhouse, table tennis table, and plenty of toys for your children to play with. We have a vegetable patch and greenhouse, please help yourself to produce! We also have chickens who ideally will need caring for but they are in their enclosed run and are very low maintenance - of course they lay delicious eggs! If you prefer not to look after the chickens we can ask a neighbour to help. We do have a dog but she will stay with a friend during your stay or come with us if possible.

About the location

The village of Buxted is in a great location set in the beautiful countryside of the High Weald. Local attractions are plentiful, woodland, downland, seaside and city all abound in East Sussex. Buxted has a train station (5 minutes walk from the house) with direct trains to London in just over an hour so very easy for a day trip. Our local town, Uckfield has lots of amenities including a bakery, butcher, 2 supermarkets, an independent cinema, a popular indoor swimming pool with slide, and 3 leisure parks. There is plenty to do in the area and a car is definitely recommended to fully explore.

We are conveniently located only 10 minutes from East Sussex National Golf Club, and not far from other major attractions such as Glyndebourne Opera House, Ashdown Forest, lovely traditional town of Lewes, the city of Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, Herstmoncuex Castle and Observatory, Bedgebury Pinetum, the Weald countryside, Cuckmere Haven, Seven Sisters national park and many others. We are 35 minutes from Gatwick airport, 1hr30 from Heathrow airport, 30 mins from Newhaven port, 1hr30 from Dover.
