Wilderness is a charming beach side village on the Western Cape Garden Route. With its long golden beaches, extensive waterways and lush indigenous forest, it is a nature lover's paradise. Wilderness lies 15 km east of George, nestled between the Outeniqua Mountains and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and is an ideal base from which to explore the world-famous Garden Route.

As far back as the late 1800s the reputation of Wilderness was established as an ideal destination for seaside holidays. A seaside boarding house was started in an old homestead ? and so began the tradition of hospitality which has made this small resort town world famous.

An outdoor style of living draws locals and visitors alike to the long stretches of sandy white beaches throughout the year.
