Large Victorian Home
`Old Bank House` is a detached Victorian stone-built home dating from 1864, conveniently located in a small town in South Yorkshire. The spacious rooms are over three floors with many original character features including original coving and high ceilings. There are three reception rooms and a large kitchen with an Aga cooker on the main level. The six bedrooms, which are all double (three with super-king beds), are on the remaining two floors and the main bathroom has a Victorian claw-foot bath. Our home is located in the town centre with a medium sized supermarket, shops, restaurants and railway station all within a short walking distance.
About the location
Penistone is a small market town (10,000 pop.) bordering the moors and hills of the Pennines. The town has many small shops and a traditional cinema as well as good transport links (bus/train) to Sheffield, Leeds, York and Manchester. Trains to London take approximately 2 hours from Sheffield. The Transpennine Trail, which runs through the town, offers easy walking, cycling and riding, while a network of hundreds of miles of footpaths in the immediate area provide almost unlimited opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside . Further afield, the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales are within easy driving distance, and the seaside is a couple of hours away.
