Character home in beautiful Victora, BC

Our lovely character home, built in 1924, is located only 150 m. (500 ft.) from an oceanfront park in beautiful Victoria, BC. We offer easy access to downtown (only 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bus) and to the two highways that lead to all the popular sites and activities Vancouver Island has to offer. Our friendly, walkable neighbourhood includes a grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shops, public library, recreation centre with swimming pool, playgrounds and oceanfront parks and pathways all within easy walking distance.

The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two sitting areas, a dining room, a large kitchen and a loft – perfect for a family, a couple or a group of friends. Amenities include an electric stove, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, front-loading washer and dryer, a flat-screen smart TV, and WiFi. Car exchange is negotiable. The kitchen is well equipped with all your cooking needs and lots of counter space to spread out on. The downstairs bedroom offers a queen-size bed; one of the upper bedrooms has a single loft bed with extra sleeping space below, and the other has a single bed. The loft contains a double futon, perfect for extra sleeping space or for just hanging out.

The cosy garden is a great place to spend time with a good book or watch the hummingbirds among the flowers. Keep an eye overhead for larger birds like bald eagles, hawks, and owls, or walk down to the ocean to look for mergansers, murrelets and other sea- and shorebirds. You may also encounter deer, otters, mink and raccoons. Nature is never far away!

About the location

The City of Victoria is famous for its beautiful Inner Harbour, framed by the Empress Hotel, the Legislature Building and the Robert Bateman Centre. You can stroll around the shops in the downtown core, listen to the buskers, visit the Royal BC Museum, book an appointment at one of the city’s many spas, and choose from a wide variety restaurants or cafes. Further afield you can visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens, peruse the book shops in the small town of Sidney-by-the-Sea, or hang out at one of the area’s many beaches. The entire region is accessible by bicycle paths, and kayaking, sailing, scuba diving and other marine activities are available through rentals and tours. Victoria is also home to a number of excellent gold courses, including Bear Mountain, designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Victoria lies at the south end of Vancouver Island, which is known for its world-class nature and adventure opportunities. The incredible beauty of Tofino, on the west coast, is 4-5 hours away by car; here you will find sweeping beaches, pounding surf and verdant temperate rain forests, as well as funky shopping and delicious eating. The Campbell River/Comox area, on the east side of the Island, is famous for its salmon fishing, bear-watching and a variety of nature adventures. Nearby Strathcona Park offers mountain hiking and camping – or a plethora of activities at the Strathcona Park Lodge. Closer to Victoria, pretty Chemainus, the City of Murals, is a popular tourist destination, and the Cowichan Valley offers excellent wine tours, delicious local food, and even a cidery. For those who like to be on the water, ocean kayaking tours and rentals are available almost everywhere.

Whether you’re looking for an easy family holiday, a relaxing getaway or full-on outdoor adventure, Victoria is a great choice!
