26 Woodway Street

We have a lovely whitewashed cottage on a country lane close to characterful Fore Street in Chudleigh. Our cottage is quite rare in that it is on three floors and offers a lot of space for such a historic building. We are a two minute stroll from the 19th century church and shops/pubs.
The building is full of historic charm with exposed beams, wooden floors, moorland views. Although we have given the ground floor a modern refurbishment to aid family life, we have kept all the traditional features and parts of the cottage are 300 years old.
The ground floor is open plan with lots of light from a double aspect. We have a patio garden at the back and a walled garden with lawn, shed, greenhouse, wendy house and trampoline.

About the location

Chudleigh is an ancient wool town with a very friendly and community orientated atmosphere. There are three pubs and three coffee shops and a good size mini market plus a twice weekly local produce market. The town sits in a lush green valley with farmers fields and a brook on one side and the Teign river on the other. Chudleigh has its own outdoor pool and cricket club. We are within 45 minutes of canoeing on the Dart, hiking on the moor, surfing on the south coast and all the culture that Devon's historic capital, Exeter, has to offer.
