Pretty Cotswold cottage

Our cosy Cotswold stone cottage was built in 1720.

Set over 3 floors, we're offering it as a 2-bedroom property. The ground floor has a small kitchen with dishwasher, lounge with digital piano and conservatory overlooking the garden. The middle floor has the main bedroom with a double bed and ensuite, a laundry cupboard and the family bathroom. The top floor has a large second bedroom with exposed beams, two single beds (pushed together in the photo) and a separate toilet.

We have a good-sized garden with a patio seating area with pergola above it, with seatng for 6, power sockets, festoon lighting and a fire pit. There’s a badminton set and three bikes.

I’d describe my cottage as full of character, creative and informal, rather than pristine. It’s part of an old farm, and there’s a dedicated parking space in a shared courtyard.

I have two cats, which will be in a cattery during exchanges.

About the location

We live in a small, friendly and quiet typical Cotswold village of just over 300 houses.

Alderton has a pub, shop, church, park with children's play equipment and access to beautiful country walks. It has just over 300 houses, several of which are thatched and half-timbered. There's another pub about 15 minutes' walk away.

You’ll need to have a car as there isn’t much public transport from the village.

We're in easy reach of many great days out including Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Broadway. There are plenty of historical places to visit like Blenheim Palace and National Trust Properties like Hidcote Manor Gardens. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Cotswold Farm Park are both lovely for children.

Within 20 minutes’ drive there are direct train routes to London, which is then a couple of hours away.

A bit further afield, you can be at the seaside in under 1.5 hours. We have a blow up canoe you are welcome to take with you.
