Whiggleton Mill

Whiggleton Mill is a 19th century linen mill on the banks of the Kellswater. It is full of character with all the modern conveniences.

Inside there are 4 large double bedrooms - 3 on the ground floor and 1 on the top floor. 1 of the bedrooms is set up with a cot and single bed. The other bedrooms are set up with King size double beds. The vaulted sitting room, with comfortable seating for 7 leads into the large, fully equipped kitchen/dining room. This then opens out onto a balcony overlooking the garden.

The private and peaceful gardens of approx 1 hectare follows the banks of the Kellswater, a trout fishing river. The original mill is attached to the working water wheel (the main house was the drying space for the linen). The garden is laid to lawn, flowerbeds and woodland. You're welcome to any vegetables growing in the garden or greenhouse.

Note: Primary access is over a ford. If the river is too high, there is secondary access down a lane at the rear from Grove Road.

Whiggleton Mill is 10 mins walk into the village of Kells, which for its size boasts a wide range of facilities: 2 restaurants, 3 takeaways, small supermarket, petrol, pharmacy and doctors. There are regular bus services into Ballymena, the nearest town which is approx 5m/8km away.

Kells is set in the heart of Co Antrim, within touching distance of all that Northern Ireland can offer. Belfast is less than 30 min away on the motorway and the Causeway Coast 30 mins away at Glenarm and 45 mins away at Bushmills. There are numerous golf courses in close proximity. The area is great for walking and cycling.
