Horsehouse, Yorkshire Dales National Park

Beautiful but bijou our old lead miners cottage sleeps four. Upstairs has a double and a twin bedroom with a shower room, downstairs has an open plan lounge and kitchenette with a multifuel stove, both have views of surrounding hills and farmland Small seating area to front and small patio with outside toilet.

Additional heating is by electric oil radiator .
Please note there is no oven but a combination microwave, a Romoska cooker and electric hob .
The cottage is 50 metres or so to the pub.
The cottage is regularly used by ourselves but is our second home, the village has a mixture of permanent residents, second home owners and holiday rentals.

About the location

Situated in Coverdale a lesser known dale of the Yorkshire Dales National Park surrounded by beautiful scenery including moorland and farmland. Horsehouse is a small village with approximately 25 dwellings, a local church and pub. The cottage is approximately 7 miles from Leyburn a thriving Dales Market town with many local amenities and independent shops and supermarket, 6 miles from Middleham famous for it’s castle and racehorse heritage and 11 miles from Masham with two independent breweries Black Sheep and Theakstones. The market town and gateway to the Dales Skipton is 23 miles
There are plenty opportunities for walking, eating, cycling, relaxing, museums, heritage train rides and even cheese tasting! We have lockable storage available for bikes and are situated on the ‘Tour de Yorkshire’ route
The city of York is 50 miles away , famous for it’s cathedral and the spa town of Harrogate is 35 miles away .
