Raywell Cottage
Our home is a small, renovated quirky cottage - formerly part of a Victorian schoolhouse - 10 minutes by car or local bus from the historic market town of Beverley.
Downstairs, the house has a well-equipped kitchen, large lounge and dining area with a great woodstove, an office with pull-out futon couch, and a tiny WC. An open staircase goes up to the second floor balcony with (also tiny) main bedroom including giant soaker tub; large modern bathroom with walk-in shower, and second bedroom with single bed and trundle that pulls out to make a king.
The back door opens to a walled patio and established pot garden.
There is a dedicated parking space right outside, and plenty of free on-street parking as well.
About the location
On the edge of the village we`re in the countryside, close to the Yorkshire Wolds Way, offering a choice of beautiful, all-season walks. Both Beverley and York are full of history, parks, and stunning architecture. The city of Hull is a 20-minute drive.
Just over an hour`s drive to the east is the North Sea, with beaches, fossils, and more historic towns including Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood`s Bay. The North York moors with all it`s walks and ruined Abbeys is also close and accessible by car.
There is a good range of smaller shops in Cottingham, and large grocery stores in Beverley.
There is an excellent pub and restaurant in the village, and many more nearby.
