Warm family home in quaint Oxfordshire market town

Our four-bedroom home offers a peaceful break in the beautiful Chilterns countryside, within walking distance from the quaint market town of Thame and driving distance from nearby Oxford.

We have two double bedrooms and two single rooms (currently set up for our children). The master bedroom has an ensuite with shower and sink. The main upstairs bathroom has a bath and is separate from the upstairs WC. We have a second toilet downstairs in the utility (with washer and dryer).

We have a long kitchen diner area, with an extendable table that can fit up to eight people. The dining area also has a piano! The lounge has a log burner and a record player plus many records and CDs, if you can remember what those are!

Our conservatory currently serves as a playroom which is full of toys and books that any visiting kids can use. We have a small enclosed garden which is perfect for young kids, plus pizza oven and BBQ.

We also have an elderly rescue cat, Harry, who will require feeding twice daily so we're ideally looking for cat lovers or at least no guests who suffers with cat allergies! We're open to guests sharing the house with other family members or friends.

We have a big driveway which can comfortably fit four cars.

On our doorstep is the Phoenix trail, a bicycle and walking path that connects Thame to nearby Princes Risborough. There is also a recreation ground just in front of our house with a playground, plus the Cuttlebrook nature reserve which offers a pleasant short walk or adventure area for kids.

About the location

Thame is a lovely market town, famed for being the filming location of murder mystery series Midsomer Murders (there's even a walking tour!) and home of Robin Gibbs from the Bee Gees.

There are lots of cute independent stores, plenty of cafes to enjoy and three big playgrounds for kids to visit. There is a farmers' market in Thame's main square every Tuesday morning where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, meats etc.

We're a 40 minute bus journey from central Oxford (or 20 minutes by car to the Thornhill Park & Ride). Thame & Haddenham railway station gets you into London's Marylebone in 39 minutes on the fast train.

We live in a rural area with lots of walking options nearby, including farmland and public paths less than five minutes away from our house.
